It was an awesome weekend of riding for all those brave souls who picked up the gauntlet and took on the Merida 24 Hour challenge on the Old Hidden Vale mountain bike tracks. The Old Hidden Vale Fiesta started with the Indi Kids Race followed by the main event. The Mulgowie Muster riders opted for the 42km round trip that included lunch at the Mulgowie Pub.

The Merida 24 Hour was conquered by Sean "Bozza" Bekkers with 39 laps of the 9km course, a princely 351kms, with Matt “Mad Dog” Powell  finishing with 37 laps and 333km and Dan Graham in third with the same total.

The Merida Flight Centre Teams dominated the Quad Mens and Quad Mixed Teams. Dark horses Yellow Jersey Maulers beat the much fancied Merida Flight Centre Pairs, clocking up three more laps.

It was a fun filled weekend of great racing at a great venue! And beware of the return infamous Laidley Yowie at the Merdia 24HR 1-2 May 2010.
